Thank you to those who have given our puppies the greatest of love, attention and family membership!
Hi Christi!
......It’s just my heart overflows with gratitude at the wonderful partner, pal and family member you have given me. Having done basic obedience with so many dogs (after studying on-line info about Sch training since I have had Zach, I have decided that I am an excellent basic obedience dog trainer—but compared to Sch training, I am just a pup myself!), I really can say just how smart Benaiah is. Just a few times and he gets it. Still, maybe I’m just biased!
I cannot tell you how many times I have given your website address to people who want to know where I got him. People comment not only on his beauty, but on his intelligence and superb temperament, especially when he’s in situations which most dogs would be all hyper and misbehaving, Benaiah remembers he’s a gentleman, just a gentleman that likes to lick people!
So thank you again.....I just wanted to let you know how wonderfully he has settled in.... I just can’t imagine life with any other canine. We complement each other perfectly. So thanks for helping me have such a sweet soul that fits in perfectly with kids and staff at school, my very young nieces and nephew and other family, to kind people in stores and neighbors. I can only pray you are blessed many times over for how much you enrich the lives of people like myself. ....... Thank you!!!!!!
Blessings to you and yours,
Lisa

Christi,
Just an update on Gucci. I absolutely love her and her personality!!
Gucci and I have started training with Russ.... and he is very
impressed with her looks, movement, temperament, her clear thinking and
definitely "food" drive. In his opinion, she is conformation material and
she has grown.....since I got her from you.......So far I have half my
fingers left, but she is getting better about taking the reward and
leaving my fingers. We have started out with the basic obedience and he
has slowly started in the bite work. Just working with tugs during
training.
So, my plan is to get her going on her titles. I am sure she can do it,
we will see about me........
...... You could say, "And I bred that Champion
also". Just a dream of mine. I will keep you posted on her progress.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Christi,
......Xano is doing wonderful. We get so many comments on him and he really
is a wonderful dog. He is extremely attached to both my wife and I
and is very handsome. His left ear is up permanently now and the
other wants to stand up. His structure is great and he looks more and
more like his dad every day. His coast has gotten better and is
beautiful. His black has shed alot and is becoming more predomenently
brown. His tri-color looks very good.
We are extremely happy with the dog a......we will recommed you to anyone looking for a GSD. We took some pictures at his favorite place, the beach, with him last
week. I will send you some soon.
Thanks again,

River is doing great! His tracking and bite work are going great. Dwayne his trainer, said he'll easily breeze through his titles. We are looking at springtime for his BH. He's an extremely quick biter, and bites hard, so we are happy about that. Enclosed is a picture. I'll have more in a few weeks. Just wanted to drop you a quick note letting you know that he's awesome!!

Hi Christi,
I'm proud to tell you that Cairo has earned the Rally Obedience Excellent title. His work was exceptional with scores of 97, 95 and 96. This earned placements all three days.
He absolutely adores going to dog trials. A videographer filmed us on the first day and you can see Cairo smiling and happy through the whole run. What a wonderful partner to have.
I haven't decided exactly which title we will go for next. His gloves and dumbell work are coming along great but all this snow has made us stick with indoor fun only. We'll see how the spring shapes up.
Thank you again for letting us have such a champion dog.

Here are a few pictures of our Bonnie - She is doing very well and smart as a whip. She is fully potty trained and sits, lays down, heal, comes and waits for her food on command. She does really well with the children, you will see her with our 6 year old daughter in one of the photos. Thanks so much for the wonderful addition to our family.

Christi,
It’s been a while since I updated you on Enzo...... Enzo is doing great with the kids and is still just a blast to have around, the attached picture shows you his new best friend in the herd. I have moved down in the rank I guess. We still receive many comments on how “awesome” he looks and how well behaved he is. I wanted to share an experience with you that proves why someone should research who to buy a dog from and how important it is to chose a well bred dog.
Enzo is always the first one to the front door at our house, once he sense it’s ok he will back off and sit and watch. My wife was home alone with the girls one day and a strange person knocked on the door, he asked to show her a demo on baking powder, Enzo was sitting between my wife and the screen door, the man reached for the handle and tried to open the door. He was greeted with a nice big bark and 100 pounds of dog against the screen. The barking continued to get aggressive and the man ran away from our door into a car. This from the same dog that greets the Schwans delivery man with tail wagging and tongue flapping.
Enzo is still a huge part of our life. Thanks for such a great dog.

Hello Christi!
I hope you and your family are all well.
I wanted to give you an update on Verena vom Adel Haus---Vreni.
She is doing wonderfully here at my house. She gets along like
peaches and cream with my other dogs. Such a happy little girl that
melts my heart every time she looks at me with those baby browns. :)
Her coat is such a luxurious black and red. She turns heads whenever
she goes out. She also passed her CGC early this month at the age of
7.5 months. First try--and she did very well indeed. She brings me
joy each day. I am very pleased and happy with her in every way. The
more she grows and matures---the more she fixes herself in my heart.
Such a sweetheart!
Take care and enjoy the Spring that is on it's way!

CONGRATULATIONS to Ava & Verena on the new Canine Good Citizen certification! Verena was only 7 1/2 months old!
HI Christi,
He (Marvel) continues to 'wow' me and others with his marvelous temperament and his wonderful trainability, not to mention what a pretty boy he is! We got his AKC Rally Novice title last month and plan to try for a couple of legs toward his CD title next month. We go to two different places to practice smatterings of rally, obedience, and agility, and both trainers this week made basically the same observation about his trainability and versatility, saying he could go all the way--VCD1, VCD2... He's such a great companion and an absolute pleasure to have!
Physically, the vet loves him--says he has the heart rate of an athlete (it's probably all the bunny rabbit chasing he does when I'm at work) and looks great.....
Well, that's it for this time. Love that dog!!

Hi there!
I don't remember the last time I sent you an update, so I thought it was about time you got to see the lovely Rhythm :) She is a total lovebug, and is uber friendly with everyone. I am actually starting to work on getting her more vocal on command (gib laut would have been nice to have on cue last week when a stranger banged on the front door at 1 am). She is vocal on the Schutzhund field, but not so much with visitors to the house. She is definitely going through some teenage moments as far as obedience goes! It's all in there, she just isn't nearly concerned enough about my opinion sometimes when there are ponies to race and deer droppings to devour.
......I took her to visit my old Schutzhund club in January (they were having a seminar introducing the AKC Working Dog Sport to the Atlanta GSD club). ..... Rhythm wowed me with her tracking that day. Protection was nice, too, for not having gotten to play that game in many months. She just has prey drive coming out of her lovely large ears ;) There were lots of GSD judges there that day, of both the SV and AKC variety, and Rhythm got compliments by all. ...
Currently Rhythm is running the farm, keeping all squirrels, lizards, and bluebirds on their toes. She will have to learn to control her prey drive soon, however, as there will be a new kitten in the family in about 3-4 weeks. She does extremely well with my nephews (3 and 1 1/2)- bouncing around them, but not touching.
To her, there is no toy or tug in the whole world quite so wonderful as a good old stick. Enjoy!

Aspen is doing great; she is now 9 months old and is becoming smarter everyday. ... We will be in Denver, Colorado fourth of July weekend, I am not sure if there is a show going on that weekend, but if you are in Denver please let me know so we can see each other . We are going to take 6 weeks in our new RV and travel to Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, California, and Arizona. Of course Aspen will be with us the whole time. .... I was glad to find out that one of Ryan’s (dog trainer) clients received a puppy from Pitra and Quax. I have not had an opportunity to see the new pup but from what Ryan has told me it is doing great.. I can’t wait to hear from you. Hope you and your family are doing well.

Christy,
I have meant to send you a couple of photos so you can see what a
fine dog Shadow turned out to be. These were taken last year at 2 yrs old
when he was on "vacation" in Taos, NM. His athletic ability is tremendous.
He can easily clear a 3' jump from a sit. He loves balls and is quite the
"hotshot" in his retrieves. Neither my wife nor I can work in the yard
without him dropping his ball at our feet non-stop for hours so we can have
the honor of throwing it again for him. 6-7 days a week we take a hour
walk after dinner together in this canyon by our house. In our den we have
two matching chairs. In the evenings, I sit in mine and he immediately
hops up in his own "man's chair." He is a wonderful dog and much loved by
us.
Take Care, John

Hi, Jennifer and Christi,
I finally did the preliminary x-rays of Gaby's hips, and they look great. (I guess I put it off in fear of the anesthetic they might use, but, believe it or not, they were able to get good pictures without sedation.) I'll probably be sending them off to OFA this week.
Her work is going extremely well. We are currently doing service dog training and serve as an "outreach ambassador," of sorts, with the American Service Dog Association. There's much left to learn, of course, but her temperament is well suited for this. We've been training in an area mall, nursing homes, and even Olive Garden. She goes with me everywhere, and performs beautifully -- even in crowded department stores.
By no means do I think I'm some "master trainer"! It's Gaby -- She learns quickly and well and seems to love her role. This weekend I started her on those door buttons for the wheel chair bound to use, and I honestly think she'll have the skill in just a couple more sessions........
Hope all is well with you. I've sent a few people to your websites recently, but sometimes these are strangers so I don't know the outcome!
I look forward to hearing from you. I'm going to send three pictures (separately): one is Gaby waiting to go working; one is on a long down at the mall, and one is outside the Olive Garden after the service dogs and a couple from class ate lunch there. (It's hard to see, but Gaby is the only dog in the group picture looking up at its handler.)

Hi Christi!
I hope this finds you all doing well and that life is considerably more peaceful. I cannot believe a year has passed!!!! Benaiah (Zachariah) will be a year old on Thanksgiving Day. He is certainly worth giving thanks.
Honestly, I cannot remember if I ever sent any pictures to you all, even though we corresponded. So here are some pics of Benaiah from when he was just a tiny puppy to a few weekends ago.
He and I continue training. We are almost certified in therapy, but we have to wait for his 1 year birthday before anything is official. Back in August, he passed his Novice I with flying colors. Actually, Benaiah was so enthusiastic--not to mention quick and precise--in his recall and finish (especially compared to the other bored/scared dogs in the class) he received a standing ovation from the Director of Education and the President of the club. I was really proud of him.
From time to time I visit your website, and on a regular basis I am giving out your web address to admirers and inquirers! Thanks again for all you do.
Blessings to you and yours,

Hi, Christi--
I don't imagine you remember the date, but I certainly do...it was 2 years ago this New Years Eve that I brought Marvel home. What an amazing dog he has turned out to be! I've never seen a dog with such an aura of benevolent confidence, stability, and instincts. One of the names I've given him is "The Great Defuser", as he has this amazing ability to defuse potentially bad dog-dog situations with no intervention on my part. I've never, ever seen him get into a fight with ANY dog, yet neither is he submissive; it's really quite fascinating to watch. There have been many, many instances during our neighborhood walks where dogs run at him, barking, growling, snarling. Marvel simply turns aside and stands his ground, with the scenario playing out in one of three ways: (1) the barking dog backs off a couple of feet and Marvel goes about his business, seemingly oblivious to the dog that's continuing to follow along, barking and growling until it tires of the game and goes about its own business; (2) the barking dog simply turns around and goes quietly home; or (3) Marvel gives a little play-bow and a playful chase ensues. This past week or so, two of the nastiest dogs around escaped their confines on separate occasions, and even with these large dogs charging him with teeth bared, Marvel simply defused the situation and we continued on without incident. One of these dogs I know for a fact tore into another neighbor's dog to the point that stitches were required, and the other one even I feel threatened by.
Much of our competition training has been on hold lately as I again spent late summer through early Dec living and working temporarily on the east coast. That wasn't all bad, though, since our subsequent titles (except for tracking) will require jumping and I didn't want Marvel doing much jumping before his 2nd birthday. And, it gave us a chance to attend a November weekend workshop in Baltimore, where Marvel turned out to be quite a stand-out. During our individual exercise in front of the group the 2nd morning, the group erupted in spontaneous applause for the one-and-only time that weekend; they then asked rhetorically, as Marvel and I returned to our places: "Could we rent him to take to seminars to make us look good?" Later, during the weekend wrap-up, the leader's observations included: "Obviously, for Marvel, the sky's the limit...There wasn't anything we put in front of him this weekend he couldn't do...". What fun it's been to have such a trainable, thinking, eager-to-please dog!
Just recently got this photo with the judges and track-layer from the tracking test last spring that illustrates again what a willing, attentive workmate I have in Marvel. (They actually took three separate photos of us or the group in front of that sign, and in every one Marvel is looking up at me, unprompted, with those beautiful brown eyes)
Celebrating two wonderful years with this wonderful dog...looking forward to many more!

Hi Christi,
Just thought I'd check in and let you know how well Jerry is doing. He is getting quite big but is still just as sweet as the day he came home. He attends puppy class twice a week and is getting a great amount of time with all different types of puppies and people. I take him on walks and he is so sweet to those that want to come up and meet him. July 18th we will move on from puppy class to the next stage with a smaller group of dogs; the whole family participates (seems we need more training than Jerry). He catches on to all the basic commands and I believe he is house trained (no accidents in the last couple of weeks)! He sleeps through the night and keeps me company each morning as I get ready for work.
Last visit to the vet he was 17 pounds and the vet was quite impressed with his calm personality. His comments as I was leaving were "You have yourself a great dog".
Hope you and your family are doing well and enjoying the summer.
Attached are a few pictures.
Talk to you soon.

Hi there Christi,
I thought I would give you a little update on Vreni and how she is doing here in my home. She is still the beautiful, healthy, wonderful dog she was born to be.:) She has a personality and character that is worth more than money could buy. I recently got her certified to be a therapy dog. I look forward to starting to do that with her this Summer. We plan on visiting the hospital once a week together. Always friendly, always loving, obedient and so willing to learn new things.......she really is perfect! This Winter she adopted an orphaned kitten that I was bottle feeding. And as of a couple weeks ago so is the proud "mother" of four orphaned raccoons! She tends them and watches over them like they were her own! It is a very touching and beautiful thing to see!
Take care,
Ava

Hi Christi!
I've been thinking of you quite a bit in the last days, hoping you had a good time at the Sieger Show. How was it? I am eager to show Kigi to you, as I expect you'll be very happy at her development. I am! She is gorgeous, attentive, responsive, and such a joyful dog--what more could I ask for!?
Above all, her recall is amazing--like a shot out of a cannon! And, she always comes that way to me. She knows stand (for examination), sit, down, and stay. And now she is even heeling off lead (when there are minimal attractive distractions, that is). What is really cool for me is that she demands that I 'ask' her to do these things, not command her. It's like night and day, the result I get in that regards. Because she is now already showing signs of boredom with all of the above, I plan to start her on the retrieve (even though she's doing that for me in play already) with the proper equipment. In afct, we've been doing 'take it' and 'out' as a reward game after she's done an exercsie correctly, and she loves this. To be sure, she has her off days (just like we all do, I expect), and that's when I am especially challenged in the patience domain. But, the pay-off for soldiering through such episodes is well-worth the effort, I've found. Well, that's a brief update. Please let me know how the Chicago adventure went for you and whoever you took along. Also, please let me know when you are next in Ft. Collins.
Until soon, I hope!

Hi Christi
Just wanted to give you an update on "Duke" aka Matzo. He is a great puppy, he is so smart we have already trained him to sit, stay , come. He also is trained to stay in certain rooms of our house. House breaking is going very well also. We will send pictures next week he is a beautiful puppy. Did you keep a litter mate I would love to see their pictures, or keep in contact with an owner of a litter mate. Have you heard from any one else?.......
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Christi,
I am very sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. We are so Happy with Deuce (Levi), he is very chill and does very well as a puppy. He has had a session of classes to help teach him the basics and was moved to the adult class after two weeks. It was great having a 5 month old puppy who was doing better than 1 to 2 year old dogs. He does tend to get a little hyper at times but we walk, run, and play Frisbee to get it all run out of him. Here are a couple of pictures from him growing up. We recently went on a backpacking trip and he was amazing. It was 9.5 miles one way at a slow walk. The whole way back he wasn't on a leash at all. He stays right with me and says hi to people passing and then goes right back to what I am doing. We are in love and couldn't be more happy with him.
........ He looks exactly like his father who is a gorgeous dog and has an awesome temper....... Thanks.

Hi Christi,
I wanted to let you know that I absolutely love my Pup! I adopted Mohan from you and his new name is BODHI. Bodhi means complete enlightenment, and is the root word of Buddha or “one who has achieved enlightenment (Bodhi)”. His name completely fits his personality as I could not imagine a more content well adjusted dog. I think he shows great potential and many long years of companionship with his family which seems to grow by the day. He absolutely loves children, other dogs, and everyone he meets. I attached some photos from the past couple of months, and would like to thank you for blessing me with this wonderful friend.
Cheers,
Daniel
